76: Wayne Enjoys a Capricho Oscuro at Oldsmar Tap House, Permit Update and CCB Beer Events

So we finally heard back from the city and they made us spend more money doing something they could have asked to do several months back when they originally approved our plans. This would have saved us two weeks delay which has cost us thousands of dollars. But at Construction Services if they can't make you spend or at the very least lose thousands of dollars they really feel like they haven't done their part to make business less effective. Which I assume is their goal.

So anyway we are scheduled for inspection on Thursday. I want to say it looks like we'll get approved this time, but with Construction Services you never really know. Even if you do EXACTLY what they told you to do, they may still decide to punish you.

On a happier note. Wayne went out to Oldsmar Tap House to order a bottle of batch 1 of Capricho Oscuro. Oldsmar is the only bar in the Universe that has it (except for a little dive bar on a planet with a methane atmosphere that orbits Proxima Centauri and I am told the locals are not fond of it)  and when Oldsmar is sold out, Batch 1 is all gone. Actually as of this writing it may already be sold out, but you'll have to ask Tony at Oldsmar about that.

Wayne enjoys the fruits of his labor.

Cheers!

Cigar City will also have a cask of Maduro Oatmeal Brown Ale at Stogies N Stouts held at Dunedin Brewery this Saturday. And we will be at the Florida Brewer's Guild Beer Fest in Ybor City on March 7th. Due to the delays from the city we will only have Maduro Oatmeal Brown Ale on draft, but we will have a special Humidor Series (aged on Cigar Box Cedar) release of the Maduro on cask at the FBG Beer Fest. So find us early, because once we blow through that cask it is all gone.

And lastly we hope to throw a launch party for CCB at Oldsmar Tap House on the 21st of March. This date is very tentative and may get pushed back if we don't get electricity in time. The beer lineup however is final and will look like this:

Bolita Brown Ale, multiple kegs
Jai Alai India Pale Ale, multiple kegs
Maduro Oatmeal Brown Ale, multiple kegs
Bolita Brown Ale (Cask Version)
Jai Alai India Pale Ale (Cask Version)
Maduro Oatmeal Brown Ale (Cask Version)
Humidor Series "OTH Launch Party Amber" (a one time release dry-hopped Amber ale aged on cigar box cedar) 5 gal keg
Oatmeal Rye India Brown Ale 5 Gal keg
Humidor Series "Cedar Aged Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout" 5 Gal Keg
Hunahpus Imperial Stout 5 Gal Keg.

Once we have a final date locked in we'll make a post here and via e-mail, so check back here in the coming weeks and don't forget to sign up with Sebastien at sebastien@cigarcitybrewing.com if you want the latest updates on CCB happenings.

Cheers,
Joey Redner

p.s. CCB got a front page cover story in the latest Southern Brew News so pick up a copy if you see one laying around!
