80: Just a Quick Update

We had the Florida Brewer's Guild fest this weekend. Everything went well though I think our reputation for leaning towards high gravity beers threw some people off when we served a 5.5% abv Brown Ale. But, the response was overwhelmingly positive and the cask version of Maduro aged on cedar was great! Cedar really is an amazing wood for beer. Wayne commented that it practically gave the beer a dry-hopped character. It is the spiciness that cigar box cedar gives that I dig, but we were both happy with it and so was the crowd, so that is what counts.

We have full fermenters with 2 more bataches of Maduro, 2 batches of Jai Alai IPA and one batch of Bolita. The IPA should be ready to package next week. Meanwhile Florida Micro Beverage will be picking up kegs on Wednesday. So the Orlando market should have beer on draft by next week. Still no word when JJ Taylor will be picking up for the Tampa area. But, I'll update as soon as we know where you can find it on draft.

I wish we could have been there, but the wife is pregnant (again) and I wouldn't dare make her watch while I indulged myself in fine Florida brews.
