93: Updates Are Few and Tweets Fewer....
I need to update more. I know. I need to tweet too. I'm working on it. Promise.
Today Wayne, Doug and I (ok Wayne and Doug) filtered Jai Alai IPA. We'll be packaging it tomorrow. So far the beer has been selling very well. We purposely did not go after many placements, because we wanted to get a handle on our production schedule in the brewery before we cranked it up full speed. Despite that the places the beer has landed have moved the beer so quickly that it wont be terribly long before we are brewing at full capacity. Everything we are making is being bought. That's all you can ask for.
On the limited release front: We are bottling Big Sound Scotch Ale on Friday. It will be ready about two weeks after that. We also filled some special casks last week. Redlight Redlight will be receiving two pins one with Humidor Series IPA and one with Big Sound Scotch Ale. And Oldsmar Tap House will be carrying a firkin of Big Sound Scotch Ale.
We are also going to be bottling our second batch of 110K+OT in the coming month along with our first batch of Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout. This second batch of 110K+OT is named I.R.I.S. which stands for India Russian Imperial Stout. Is it a Black IPA? Or is it a really hoppy Imperial Stout? All I can say is, yes to both. It's definitely the hoppiest beer we've done to date!
On the barrel front: Capricho Oscuro (Our dark beer blend aged on whatever wood we can get our hands on) Batch 2 is fully blended and should be ready to bottle in a month or so as well. Batch 3 is also in the works and should be ready in about 3 months. Each batch is a maximum of 53 gallons and will be bottled in 12 ounce bottles. Each batch is limited to a maximum of 23 cases of 24, 12 oz bottles.
We also have 53 gallons of Bolita aging in a Maker's Mark barrel and my most recent sample taste tells me it should be ready in about 2-3 months. And we filled a bourbon barrel today with Big Sound Scotch Ale so look for Bourbon Barrel Aged Big Sound in about 4-6 months. We are also working on a super secret blend aged in a Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrel exclusively for Alan at Knightly Spirits in Orlando. I pulled a sample today......YUM. The blend is finished and the barrel is full and should be aged enough for bottling fairly soon. But the beer isn't named so far and no label art has been developed for Federal/State approval so I have no earthly idea when you might be able to buy a bottle. I suggest you call Knightly Spirits and ask Alan about that.
On the tasting room front: Almost daily people stop by wanting to drink/buy beer and we can't sell them any. It sucks. But, we are working on it. Furiously. The floor should go in this week. The bathrooms are mostly finished. We are working on jumping through all the hoops to get our alcohol vendor's license in place. I doubt it will be ready the first week of April, but the middle of April is still possible.
That's all for now. Remember to call Alan at Knightly Spirits in Orlando and tell him to start coming up with names!
Cheers,
Joey Redner

Is you're target distribution area going to be in orlando? With the capricho, as stated it will be very limited production, is that type of thing going to be offered directly from the brewery? or would that be sent to an independent store? I hope the stuff you guys offer at stores will be also available directly from your brewery. would prevent the long drive to orlando. :p

Our target distribution area is Central Florida with an emphasis on the bay area first. With very few exceptions anything Orlando gets Tampa will get as well. In fact Tampa gets far more volume of our beer than Orlando does.
There will be situations when some very limited stuff makes it to Orlando, but for the most part that stuff will be draft only.
We have plenty of treats that will be available only in Tampa and once the tasting room is open; available only at the brewery. The Bourbon Barrel Aged series bottles along with Hunaphus Imperial Stout and others will be tasting room only brews, once we get said tasting room open.

Good thing I'm gonna be at Red Light ^2 on Friday, and Knightly on Saturday
I've had CCB stuff on tap now at Datz, WOB, OTH, Cork, Brass Tap, and Dunderbaks. Haven't made it out to Dunedin HOB yet but want to check that place out!
