105: Tasting Room Pics

I got a lot done today (Sunday). I really enjoy being at the brewery by myself with no distractions. I get into a groove and seem to accomplish a good amount of work. Today I worked on organizing the cooler by getting all my personal cellar beers off the floor and onto a rack. I also got the full outgoing kegs off to the side. When Wayne kegs he is dealing with a lot of raw weight so he puts everything on pallets and forklifts them straight into the cooler. But invariably they don't go out to our distributors in exactly the order Wayne palletizes them. So I often have to break down and rebuild pallets to get them on the distributors trucks. Having the full kegs stacked up on the sides of the cooler makes building pallets to the distributors specifications much easier and I had been meaning to set things up this way for a while and just had not been able to get to it.

I also racked over another small batch Humidor Series beer I have been working on. It is an as yet untitled blend of my own creation that will be available growler only under the Humidor Series label. The base beer is Chaveta Dark Mild aged on cedar, but with a blend of two other beers (both previously unreleased). It should be ready around June 6th.

In addition to sundry other tasks I tried to give the tasting room a more cohesive "hang out" vibe. My interior decorating skills are far from Jedi level however so instead it came out looking like what what my bad friend Michael once described the beer store I was working at as; "80's era comic book store". Still it's a space to sit and sample a brew while you wait for your growler to be filled or just to hang out and watch us brew beer. I snapped some pics before leaving for the day:

If you want to trade some interior designing for tasty beer just let me know!

Cheers,
Joey
