110: Bourbon Barrel Aged Bolita Release Date: June 26th @ 6PM
The first of our bourbon barrel aged brews has been bottled and is ready for release. We filled one Maker's Mark barrel with some of the first batch of Bolita that we brewed back in Febr
uary. Since then it has sat in our cellar room at 55 F. A little shy of six months in the fresh barrel. We will be releasing 170 bottles to the public at the tasting room.
Since we really don't know what to expect we wanted to keep things informal and just do it as a show up and buy some beer sort of an affair. We felt rather presumptive assuming a hoarde of people would want to buy this stuff considering we've never done a release like this. But then we didn't want anyone burning us in effigy in case the beer sold out quickly. So this is how it will go down:
Starting at 6PM on Friday June 26th we will be handing out tickets which will act as your placeholeder in line. At 8PM bottles will go on sale at $20 each with a limit of 3 bottles per person and as we call your number you can step forward to buy your allotment. We will also have beer for sale on tap (with some suprises on draft) between 6PM and 10PM and growlers availible for sell along with other CCB merchandise. There will also be empanadas and other Cuban-themed food to snack on, gratis.
If the Bourbon Barrel Aged Bolita does not sell out during the first go round we'll roll back around to ticket #1 and continue going until it does sell out or until people tire of the whole affair and leave. Any remaining Bourbon Bareel Aged Bolita will remain for sale at the brewery during our normal operating hours of 11 AM to 5PM Mon-Fri.
If you plan on attending bear in mind we are a production brewery first and foremost and comfortable is not one of our buildings key attributes. Our brewery is in an un air-conditioned warehouse. While we have fans and a port-a-cool (swamp cooler) you will still be in a warehouse in June in Florida. It can get hot. If this bothers you, please do not attend.
